Harp for a Wedding Ceremony in Manhattan

I played a wedding ceremony in December at for a really nice couple, and they just sent me a photo taken by their wedding photographer Nicole Rochelle. The wedding was at Holy Trinity Church on the upper East side, and what a beautiful church, as you can see from the photo! I worked up a solo harp arrangement of “Kiss from a Rose” (by Seal) to play for… (photos) Continue reading

Erin plays the harp at Marble Church, NYC

Today I played the harp at Marble Church in Manhattan for their Irish luncheon, in honor of St. Patty’s Day this week. I’ve been a harpist and singer at Marble Church many times before, and it’s always a pleasure to see everyone and play there. Today I of course did many Irish and Celtic songs, including… (photos) Continue reading

a snowy harp day in NYC…

I had two harp gigs today in the latest NYC blizzard! I played this morning at Finn MacCool’s in Port Washington, NY from noon to 3, and if any of you think that’s not morning, then you don’t know me very well, because for me, that is the morning! When I… Continue reading

Photos from the Bijules reception

What a fun reception it was tonight! It was the closing reception for jewelry designer Jules Kim’s pop up Bijules event, and I played my electric harp, and The Black Soft did several songs. It was my first time seeing The Black Soft live, and they were awesome! I have a feeling that… Continue reading

Erin plays harp at Wieden + Kennedy in Manhattan

I had a great time playing harp today at the advertising agency Wieden + Kennedy for their Valentine’s Day party. The first exciting thing that happened when I brought my harp in was that I saw — puppies! Yes, they’re a dog-friendly workplace, which was just a thrill for me, getting to see puppies cavorting as I played the harp. Other highlights were accompanying an impromptu rap to Drake’s “Started from the Bottom,” and… (photos included) Continue reading

Singing Hindemith to the Harp

Singing “Habanera” yesterday got me thinking about the different languages I sing in when I perform as a Harpist/Singer. “Habanera” is one of the few songs I do in French. German is the only other language I actually speak, so of course, singing in German is my favorite. Another song I recently added to my harp + voice repertoire is “Gebürt Maria” from Hindemith’s Das Marienleben. I studied Das Marienleben in Switzerland at… Continue reading
